Napa Valley Express Summer 2008 Tryouts

16u & 18U - January 12th, 2008
14U - January 26th & 27th, 2008

Napa Valley Express will be holding tryouts for the 16U and 18u teams January 12th of 2008 at the Vintage High Varsity field. Players 16 and under are asked to check in at 9:30 am and will begin at 10am and end at 12:30. Players 18 and under are asked to check in at 12:00 and will begin at 12:30 and end at 3:00. Pitchers and catchers will be asked to stay after for approx. a half hour. All players under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or they will not be allowed to tryout. OFFERING 2007 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Napa Valley Express Softball organization will be accepting applications for scholarships for 2007 graduating seniors. Applicants must have played with the organization during the summer season at least 3 out of the last 5 years. To obtain an application or for more information contact Teri Price @ 255-6050 or e-mail dandtprice@aol.com. The deadline for submittal is April 25, 2007.

ANNOUNCES 1^st TRYOUT SESSION FOR

2007 10’s and 12’s TEAMS

Napa Valley Express Softball will be holding their first tryout for the 10’s and 12’s teams for the 2007 season. Tryouts are scheduled for Sunday, March 11, 2007 at the Vintage High School Varsity Field beginning at 9:00 a.m. Potential players are asked to check-in @ 9:00 a.m. and will begin at 9:30 a.m. Pitcher’s and Catchers will be asked to stay after for approximately ½ hr.

Directions: Take Hwy. 29 N. to the Trower Ave. exit. Turn right at Trower. Go to end of Trower Ave. Vintage High parking lot is on the right and the field is just past the parking log.

All players must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or they will not be allowed to try out. In case of rainout, tryouts will be moved to the following weekend, Sunday, March 18^th at the same times. For more information visit our website @ napavalleyexpress.org or contact Dave Price @ 255-6050

18 & Under Team

Napa Valley Express Softball will be holding tryouts for the 18 & Under Girls Fastpitch team for 2007. This tryout will be held Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Napa Valley College Softball Field. Girls are asked to check-in @ 9:30 a.m. and tryouts will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pitchers and Catchers will be asked to stay after for approximately ½ hr.

Directions: Take Soscol Ave. S. from Imola Ave. to Streblow Drive (just past Napa Valley College entrance). Turn right, go past golf course (on the left) and pond (on the right), and take the road just past pond toward the softball diamonds.

Pitcher’s and Catchers will be asked to stay after for approximately ½ hr.

Express is also planning to field a 10 & Under and 12 & Under “B” ball teams that will form after May 1, 2007. The 18 & Under team tryouts will be announced at a later date.

Napa Valley Express Offers Offensive/Defensive Skills Clinics for Fall 2006

Napa Valley Express will hold Offensive and Defensive skills clinics for ALL Napa County high school age girls (incoming freshmen included) every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2006. The clinics will focus on offense one night and defense the following night. The clinics will be held at the Vintage High Varsity field from 5 to 7PM each Tuesday and Wednesday. Times could vary (i.e. 5:30 to 7PM) depending on staffing. Express will try to offer these clinics until daylight savings time or weather permitting.
